God helps those who help themselves

When you're in trouble, and you scream for help without making any effort to get out of trouble.. Doesn't it show that you're a lazy person?
What if the person coming to help you isn't as strong as you are? He won't put all the effort to help you get out of trouble if you're not genuinely interested to get out of it yourself, will he? And how'll you show that you're interested in getting out? You put in your best effort.
It's like you know the car needs to be pushed 5 kms and you can only push it for 3 kms. You can't ask help to push the car all the way. You need to bring it 3 kms closer to the garage by putting all your effort. Then you can ask for help. But then too, you need to put some extra effort to show that you're still willing to reach your goal.
When you ask for help, remember to put your full effort in the first place then expect the helper to help you happily.

So, when you're at a gym, and trying a bigger weight on the bench press for the first time and ask the trainer or spotter to spot you, put in the effort required. If you're planning to complete 12 reps, complete at least 8 to 10 reps on your own and then ask for help for the remaining reps. The spotter will not help you complete all your 12 reps. He there to spot you and not to workout his back!

Even when you're praying, you should put in effort otherwise you'll only sit hand on hand, expecting miracles to happen for a really long time till you become an atheist. Like, if you wanna win a lottery, you need to put in effort and BUY a lottery ticket and then check the newspaper or whatever to see if you won it…
